As fire chiefs and personnel well know,
providing fire-related services to communities is more than just prevention and suppression. It is also investigation
of cause and origin, and departments are expected by law and professional standards to undertake a preliminary if not
substantial investigation of a fire prior to relinquishing control of the scene.
The National Fire Command Association
strives to assist departments in this function by providing resources and links on various aspects of fire investigation.
Additional suggestions are welcome and may be sent directly to the NFCA by e-mail.
