WISCONSIN FIRE SERVICE
Jaws.JPG
The fire service over the past 30 years has become increasingly involved in specialized rescue functions, including confined space, dive, ice, rope, swiftwater, trench, urban, and wilderness rescue.

Today, one of its better known and sophisticated forms of specialized rescue is extrication, typically - though not always - vehicle extrication, which gained much of its prominence with the advent and subsequent evolution of hydraulic power tools.

Below are listed a variety of extrication-related sites.  Many of these sites are commercial or industrial in nature, and while the National Fire Command Association does not endorse particular products or manufacturers, it necessarily recognizes that modern extrication is very much a technology-based, industry-driven component of emergency services.
